Fill your week with action, adventure and a lot of comedy in our Hollywood movie-making camp. Mentored by master filmmakers, you’ll make movie magic while exploring the filmmaking process, including pre-production, production and post production. Working in small crews, you’ll learn about cinematography, script writing and digital post-production tools, like Final Cut Pro, iMovie and Canva. You’ll then create, act in and edit a short film and movie trailer, adding special effects, music, voiceovers, titles and sound effects, plus you’ll use the latest technology — MacBooks, 4K cameras, tripods, boom microphones, green screens and aerial drones. You and your crew will also create promotional and advertising assets to showcase your short film to the world and use AI tools to generate an original movie soundtrack. Movies will be presented at our red carpet popcorn film festival and archived on our digital theatre. Note: The camp day is 8:30am to 4:30pm. Camp programming runs from 9am to 4pm. Before & After Care is available for campers who require care before the camp day begins, from 7:30-8:30am, and after the camp day has ended, from 4:30-6pm. Separate registration is required. Must register for Before & After Care at North Thornhill Community Centre for camps located at Stephen Lewis Secondary School.

Channel your creative energy on canvas and on stage! This specialty camp offers 'kreative' kids instruction in visual arts and drama combined with traditional camp activities such as arts & crafts, special theme days, sports and games.

Tiny worlds, epic stories — create it all in stop motion! Under the wing of industry pros, you’ll turn LEGO and clay into cinematic masterpieces while exploring the stop motion animation process, including pre-production, production and post production. Working in small crews, you’ll bring to life a movie set, write a script, shoot the animation and edit your blockbuster short and movie trailer. Movies will be presented at our red carpet popcorn film festival and archived on our digital theatre.

Spend the summer sharpening your artistic skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media art and more! Showcase your one-of-a-kind pieces in an end-of-session art expo for family and friends, with select pieces featured on our Instagram page. Special event days and other camp-related activities complement the art instruction. Note: Participants will be grouped by age and/or skill level. The camp day is 8:30am to 4:30pm. Suit up for the ultimate one-of-a-kind superhero adventure! This week-long creative camp is a celebration of all things superhero, bursting with imagination, action and larger-than-life fun! Every day brings thrilling new missions filled with collaborative art, storytelling, team-building and just the right amount of super-powered chaos. You and your fellow campers will design original heroes and villains and team up to save the day in epic, action-packed drawing challenges. Then, gear up with an arsenal of amazing superhero crafts, from designing capes and forging emblems to assembling all sorts of heroic gear that’ll bring your characters to life. And if that’s not enough, how about an unbelievable hands-on workshop where you’ll actually build your own action figures from scratch? When the signal shines, heroes rise! That’s your cue to grab your cape, sharpen your pencils and assemble your squad — the adventure begins now!
