Summer Camps · Arts - Performing

Music on. Feet moving. Explore ballet, jazz and hip hop while you build coordination and confidence through movement. Learn short, fun, easy-to-learn and age-appropriate routines that come together for a casual end-of-session dance recital for family and friends on the Friday of the second week of camp. Each session encompasses a different theme with songs, games, outdoor water play and creative activities. Note: Previous dance experience is not required. The camp day is 8:30am to 4:30pm. Camp programming runs from 9am to 4pm. Before & After Care is available for campers who require care before the camp day begins, from 7:30-8:30am, and after the camp day has ended, from 4:30-6pm. Separate registration is required.

Musical theatre lovers come together for the final curtain call of the summer. Dance, act, sing and design the set as summer comes to a close. Youth will bring characters to life in a two-week theatrical production that will culminate with a live stage performance at the City Playhouse Theatre the evening of the second Thursday of camp. Whether you're new to theatre or a seasoned actor, staff trained in theatre arts will hone and develop campers’ natural skills, while also teaching them about the importance of teamwork in building a production. Bravo! Note: The camp day is 8:30am to 4:30pm. Camp programming runs from 9am to 4pm. Before & After Care is available for campers who require care before the camp day begins, from 7:30-8:30am, and after the camp day has ended, from 4:30-6pm. Separate registration is required.

Ages 10–14

Aspiring dancers take centre stage in this smash hit camp. Campers develop fundamental dance skills and cultivate a love of dance through daily stretching, warm-ups, recreational dance, and primary dance classes in jazz, hip hop and group production. Arts & crafts, games and special events complement the dance component of this camp. All campers perform in an evening dance recital the second Thursday of the session. Must register for Before & After Care at North Thornhill Community Centre for camps located at Stephen Lewis Secondary School.
